Castle Pines Has Three Construction Projects Underway This Fall

Castle Pines is mid-construction on three projects at once this fall: the Castle Pines Parkway reconstruction, a roughly $5 million first phase of Coyote Ridge Park improvements, and gateway monuments going in at Happy Canyon Road and Lagae Road.

Castle Pines has three capital projects under construction at the same time this fall: a roadway and waterline rebuild on Castle Pines Parkway, the first phase of improvements at Coyote Ridge Park, and a new entrance monument going in at a city roundabout.

Castle Pines Parkway reconstruction

The City is rebuilding the westbound lanes of Castle Pines Parkway between Monarch Boulevard and Forest Park Drive — a full roadway reconstruction paired with waterline replacement. Work began June 1, 2026, and the City anticipates finishing this fall. The stretch from Monarch Boulevard to Deer Clover reopened to traffic Aug. 11.

The plan for the Forest Park Drive to Buffalo Trail roundabout section changed mid-project: crews found unexpected concrete damage there, so instead of diamond grinding the existing concrete, the City Council approved on July 14, 2026 replacing that section with asphalt. As of Oct. 7, the City says all primary waterline infrastructure is installed and crews are testing it. Once testing and the remaining service connections are done, roadway crews will prep the rest of the westbound lanes for paving, expected to begin later this month between Deer Clover Drive and just east of the Buffalo Trail roundabout. After westbound traffic shifts onto the new pavement, crews will remove the existing eastbound concrete and pave it too, with that work targeted for early-to-mid November. The City notes construction schedules are weather-dependent and may shift.

Coyote Ridge Park, Phase 1

The City Council approved a construction contract for the first phase of Coyote Ridge Park improvements at its July 14, 2026 meeting, estimated at about $5 million. Construction started Sept. 8, 2026, and crews are currently building a retaining wall for the baseball field's outfield. The City anticipates this phase wrapping up in spring 2027.

New gateway monuments

Castle Pines has been adding entrance monuments and landscaping at its major thoroughfares for several years, and the newest is going in now. The City Council approved a construction contract in August 2026 for a monument and landscaping at the roundabout where Happy Canyon Road meets Lagae Road; construction of the monument began in late September and continues into the fall.

Two other monuments finished recently: one at Monarch Boulevard and Buffalo Trail, completed in early September 2026, and one along westbound Castle Pines Parkway, built between March and September 2025. The City's original set of gateway monuments was completed in 2023.

As of Oct. 7, all primary waterline infrastructure is installed and crews are testing it; westbound paving is expected to begin later in October between Deer Clover Drive and just east of the Buffalo Trail roundabout, with eastbound lanes to follow in early-to-mid November. Construction schedules remain weather-dependent.
