Buka Yoga, the yoga studio on N Wilcox St in downtown Castle Rock, has expanded to a second studio in the Denver Tech Center. The new space has been running classes since August, and the official grand opening celebration is Saturday, Oct. 17, from 9:30am to 3:30pm, with free classes.
One thing to clear up before you head out on the 17th: the grand opening is at the new DTC studio in Greenwood Village, not in Castle Rock. The Castle Rock studio isn't going anywhere and is keeping its regular schedule.
The Castle Rock studio
Buka is two studio spaces right next door to each other downtown: Bloom at 721 N Wilcox St and Shine at 723 N Wilcox St. When you book, the class description tells you which room, and each door is marked.
The owner is Brooke Page-Thompson. The studio's own history says it has been Buka since 2019, it has more than 40 teachers (many trained in Buka's own teacher training), and it says it has been voted Castle Rock's "Best of the Best" yoga studio four years running, 2023 through 2026.
The style is traditional hatha, and every class ends with savasana. The regular schedule includes hatha, vinyasa, HOT, kundalini, meditation, restorative, yoga nidra, Energy Medicine Yoga, reiki and sound baths, plus senior yoga, prenatal yoga and mom-and-baby classes. Most classes aren't heated. The ones that are say so in the title and run 85 to 88 degrees, and HOT classes go to 102. Nearly every class is also streamed online, and the studio runs workshops, retreats and 200- and 300-hour teacher trainings.
How it got to the Tech Center
In fall 2025, Denver's ONE Yoga merged with Buka. That's a full-circle one: per Buka, ONE is where Brooke and studio manager Courtney Birkbeck did their own 200-hour teacher training. ONE had lost its original space in Marina Square on Belleview Avenue and had been holding classes inside the Lion's Den gym. Karey and Matt Goebel, who ran ONE since 2016, stepped back from the business side but are still teaching.
Buka signed a lease in Greenwood Village, three blocks from ONE's original home, and opened the doors for classes on Aug. 1, 2026. The new studio is at 8000 E Prentice Ave, Unit A-5, off DTC Blvd and Prentice Ave, with multiple parking lots.
For Castle Rock members, Buka says it's business as usual, except you may see some new teachers and classmates from the ONE community. Every Buka membership works at both studios at no extra cost.
