Recreation Instructor/Coach-Swim Lessons (PT)

About the Role

Under general supervision, this position plans, instructs and supervises a variety of recreational programs, with a focus on swim lessons. It implements lesson plans, evaluates participant skill levels, fosters an inclusive environment, and responds to emergencies with first aid as needed. This is a safety-sensitive position subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Implement lesson plans and practice schedules and instruct participants in swim lessons
• Support inclusive programming by adapting activities for participants with disabilities
• Perform safety and maintenance checks on equipment and facilities
• Act as the primary on-site contact for participants, parents and guardians
• Assess participant skill levels, monitor progress and provide constructive feedback
• Respond to emergency situations, provide first aid, and complete incident reports

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age
• One year of relevant teaching, coaching or recreational programming experience preferred
• CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
• Current Swim Instruction certification required
