Consumer Access Specialist

About the Role

The Consumer Access Specialist handles Medicare compliance reviews, collects payments, and coordinates with various departments to enhance the patient experience. This role is pivotal in ensuring that patients have the necessary logistical information and financial estimates.

Responsibilities

• Performs Medicare compliance reviews.
• Creates accurate estimates for patient financial responsibility.
• Contacts insurance companies to verify eligibility and benefits.
• Registers patients for all services and collects critical demographic information.
• Manages communication between clinical, ancillary, and consumer access departments.
• Documents all patient and insurance representative conversations.

Requirements

• Associate or High School Graduate (Required)
• 1+ year of customer service experience (Preferred)
• Understanding of HIPAA privacy rules.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Experience in a healthcare related field (Preferred).
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
