Consumer Access Specialist

About the Role

As a Consumer Access Specialist, you will perform Medicare compliance reviews and assist with estimating patient financial responsibility. Your role is crucial in ensuring patients receive the necessary information for their care, enhancing their overall experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform Medicare compliance reviews and issue Advance Beneficiary Notices as needed.
• Create accurate estimates for patient financial responsibility and collect payments.
• Coordinate with utilization management for pre-authorization issues.
• Contact insurance companies to verify eligibility and benefits.
• Register patients for all services and minimize duplication of medical records.
• Provide excellent customer service and document all conversations.

Requirements

• Associate's degree preferred; High School Graduate or equivalent required.
• 1+ year of customer service experience preferred.
• Familiarity with healthcare and revenue cycle processes preferred.
• Ability to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing.
• Mature judgment in dealing with patients and insurance representatives.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
