Consumer Access Specialist

About the Role

The Consumer Access Specialist creates accurate estimates for patient financial responsibility and collects payments or establishes payment plans. They coordinate with utilization management for pre-authorization and ensure patients have the information they need.

Responsibilities

• Perform Medicare compliance reviews and issue notices as needed
• Create accurate estimates for patient financial responsibility
• Collect payments or establish payment plans
• Coordinate with utilization management on pre-authorization issues
• Register patients for all services
• Manage communication between clinical, ancillary, and consumer access departments

Requirements

• Working knowledge of Microsoft programs
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively
• Knowledge of electronic health record programs
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
