SPED Teacher - Moderate Needs (One Year Only 26-27 School Year)

About the Role

Moderate needs programs in the Douglas County School District serve diverse students requiring special education services. Teachers facilitate inclusive practices through personalized support both in and outside the classroom, utilizing technology and effective instructional methods.

Responsibilities

• Manage student behavior by establishing and enforcing classroom rules.
• Utilize technology to provide diverse learning materials and resources.
• Support and counsel students struggling with academic issues.
• Maintain accurate records of students' progress and prepare related reports.
• Plan and implement instructional programs tailored to student needs.
• Facilitate active learning experiences and communicate clear activity objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (Required)
• Colorado Special Education Generalist License
• Familiarity with IEP development and case management
• Knowledge of child development and behavior management
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with parents and staff.
