Patient Access Specialist

About the Role

In this role, you will meet with patients and caregivers to provide necessary information and documentation related to their visits. You will communicate with healthcare providers to exchange information and ensure accurate scheduling, while also verifying insurance details and processing payments.

Responsibilities

• Meets with patient and/or patient's caregiver to exchange necessary information and documentation.
• Communicates with referring provider's office, clinical department(s), and/or other appropriate personnel to exchange necessary information and determine schedule.
• Verifies insurance benefits and obtains pre-certification/authorization as necessary.
• Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refers to financial counselors for follow-up.
• Ensures that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.
• Works in a fast-paced environment and takes appropriate action.

Requirements

• Strong communication skills.

• Proficiency in using registration systems and related software.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of insurance verification processes.
