About the Role

Under general supervision, the Lateral Police Officer performs a wide variety of police and law enforcement duties. Responsibilities include traffic and field patrol, investigations, crime prevention, community relations, and public safety activities.

Responsibilities

  • Patrols a designated area and enforces laws
  • Detects and prevents criminal activities through surveillance
  • Investigates and gathers evidence
  • Responds to public disturbances and emergencies
  • Interacts with citizens to resolve community concerns
  • Maintains police equipment and uniforms

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • POST Certification
  • Completion of Colorado POST Certified Academy within last 24 months
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
