About the Role
This full-time role provides emergent and urgent patient care under the direction of a physician, PA, nurse practitioner or registered nurse. The technician coordinates patient flow, prepares patients for exams and performs procedures such as splinting and venipuncture.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates flow of patients in the department to optimize throughput
- Observes patients and notifies the provider or RN if a patient appears in distress
- Prepares patients to see the provider and assists during examinations
- Inserts Foley catheters, performs complex splinting and venipuncture
- Maintains exam and treatment rooms and ensures supply levels are maintained
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider
- One of: CMA, RMA, state EMT/EMT-I/Paramedic licensure, military medic course, or LPN
- IV proficiency within 6 months
