About the Role
This onsite, full-time role provides direct assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures, including positioning patients, providing site visualization, achieving hemostasis and assisting with closure and wound dressings.
Responsibilities
- Positions patient with stabilizing equipment for best exposure while maximizing comfort and safety
- Provides visualization of the operative site through tissue manipulation, retraction, sponging and irrigation
- Utilizes appropriate technique to achieve temporary and permanent hemostasis
- Assists with body plane closure, wound dressings and securing drainage systems
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED and Surgical Technologist program
- Certified as CSFA (NBSTSA), CSA (NSAA) or SA-C (ABSA)
- State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider
