About the Role
This onsite, full-time role performs laboratory testing of patient specimens in one or more sections of the laboratory. The scientist interprets and reports test results, performs quality control and serves as a resource to lab and clinical staff.
Responsibilities
- Performs diagnostic and analytic testing of specimens and interprets, documents and reports results
- Performs quality control testing, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting
- Complies with good laboratory practice and regulatory requirements
- Serves as a resource to laboratory staff and other clinical staff
- Performs projects as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and graduate of an accredited Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist program
- Certification as MT (AMT) or MT/MLS (ASCP) or categorical ASCP certification, obtained within 90 days of hire
- State licensure if required by law
