About the Role
The school social worker collaborates with teachers and the IEP team to address students' challenges through various methods. They play a crucial role in improving students' educational performance and providing appropriate interventions.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group services to students experiencing mental health or social difficulties.
- Collaborate on developing individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Conduct school-wide activities and crisis intervention.
- Maintain appropriate data on students to document performance levels.
- Consult with parents and staff regarding children's programs.
- Support and establish a safe learning environment for diverse students.
Requirements
- Colorado Special Service Provider License for School Social Worker.
- Master's Degree in Social Work.
- Experience working with school-aged children.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of special education law.
