Educational Assistant I

About the Role

The Educational Assistant I plays a vital role in supporting teachers and helping students reach their academic goals. This position involves a variety of responsibilities including providing individual or small group support to students, administering minor first aid, and fostering a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist students, individually or in small groups, with lesson assignments for the purpose of practicing and/or reinforcing learning concepts.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
• Administer minor first aid for the purpose of meeting immediate health care needs.
• Mediate student conflicts to ensure a safe educational environment.
• Report observations and incidents relating to specific students for the purpose of communicating information to appropriate personnel.
• Monitor individual and/or groups of students in various settings for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.

Requirements

• High School or Equivalent (Required)
• First Aid & CPR Certification - Colorado
• Ability to lift between five to fifty pounds
• Ability to stand/walk for ninety minutes
• Strong communication skills
