About the Role
Under the direction of a licensed special education teacher, the Educational Assistant supports functional, academic, and life skills instruction for students with significant support needs. This role requires close collaboration with the special education team to ensure that students receive the support necessary for their academic and personal growth.
Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
- Assist students with daily living and functional skills such as dressing, feeding, and personal hygiene.
- Monitor and provide delegated health care procedures including first aid.
- Maintain a clean and safe learning environment.
Requirements
- High School or Equivalent (Required)
- Experience with children or young adults with significant cognitive or physical disabilities preferred.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Commitment to student safety and promoting independence.
