Beginner Bird Watching at Lost Canyon Ranch Open Space

The Castle Rock Parks and Trails Foundation hosts an early-morning beginner birding walk at Lost Canyon Ranch Open Space, partnering with Town of Castle Rock. A 1.7-mile guided hike on the brand-new Willow Creek and Bootlegger trails — riparian area and mature forest on the shaded north slope — in search of grassland and forest birds. Free admission with a suggested $20 donation per person. Bring your own binoculars. Recommended for beginners ages 8+. Space is limited and registration is required: there is no public access to Lost Canyon Ranch without an authorized guide.
