The Castle Rock Parks and Trails Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 46-2703132) founded in 2012. Its stated mission is to “inspire nature conservation, promote open space stewardship, and encourage our community to get outdoors,” and its goal is to “partner with the Town of Castle Rock to make our outdoor spaces better.” The Foundation has no public office; it works through events and volunteer projects on the Town’s parks, trails and open spaces, including Lost Canyon Ranch Open Space.

As we reported it: In 2025 Castle Rock Crew counted the Town’s 62 developed parks, 136 miles of trails and 6,900 acres of open space, and Tunes for Trails ran on third Thursdays from 6:30pm to 9pm at Miller Park with doors at 5:30pm.
