What the job is
Castle Rock's Town Council is six Councilmembers and a Mayor. Councilmembers each represent the district they live in; the Mayor represents the whole town and can be elected from any district. Town elections are nonpartisan, so no party appears next to a name and there are no primaries. Terms are four years, and Councilmembers and Mayors are limited to two consecutive terms. Whoever wins is sworn in at the organizational meeting at Council's first regular meeting in December.
