Every February, elite bull riding comes to the Douglas County Fairgrounds — an afternoon show and an evening show of raw power, grit, and eight-second rides. The 15th annual edition is set for Saturday, February 13, 2027, with tickets on sale November 27, 2026.

What to expect
This is real-deal bull riding — a stop on the Maverick Tour, one of the fastest-growing bull riding tours in the country, held indoors at the Fairgrounds in the heart of winter. Riders draw bucking bulls from the organizer's own stock (Castle Rock Bull Riding is run by TZ Bucking Bulls), and the event has run under title sponsor Wagner Rents in recent years — locally you'll see it billed as the "Wagner Rents Castle Rock Bull Riding."
- 🐂 Two shows — a 2 PM afternoon show (the family favorite) and a 7 PM evening show. In 2026, doors opened at 12:30 so you could get up close and learn how the bucking bulls are cared for, the equipment, and the training before the chaos began.
- 🏆 The main event — at the 2026 edition: 100+ bulls competing (scored even if the rider doesn't make it), the Maverick Tour Cowboy Protection Match — bullfighter teams competing to see who's the real Top Gun — youth bull riders on mini bulls, and Tres Rios Silver buckles for the winners.
- 🎪 Between the rides — trick & fancy riding (Wyollah Moses performed in 2026), Rodeo Royalty, a mechanical bull for anyone with something to prove, face painters, vendors, and food concessions.
- 🪧 Name That Bull — the best bit: for $100, a bucking bull carries your name (or your business's) for one performance, and the announcer calls it out as the bull leaves the chute.
- 💘 Valentine's-weekend tradition — the event lands on Valentine's weekend most years; the 2026 edition ran ON Valentine's Day and pitched itself as the closest thing Castle Rock has to a "Guyentine's" event.
- 📍 The Fairgrounds — the same grounds that host the Douglas County Fair & Rodeo each summer, at 500 Fairgrounds Rd on the east side of Castle Rock. Parking was free in 2026.
