Parker's movie theater is back, and it grew up. We got inside Emagine Parker the night before it opened to the public — so here's what the place actually looks like, what it costs, and what's worth knowing before you go. I toured Emagine Parker with owner Jon Goldstein at the June 30 sneak preview, the night before it opened to the public, and stopped back in on July 24, a few weeks into its run. What follows mixes that firsthand look with the confirmed details.

It is a notable upgrade for a space that had been dark since last fall. AMC closed the Twenty Mile location in September 2025, pushing Parker moviegoers toward theaters in Aurora and Lone Tree. Emagine signed a long-term lease on the building and renovated it into what the company calls a "reimagined entertainment destination." What the EMX screens actually are

EMX is Emagine's own premium large-format brand, the company's answer to a big-screen night out. The two EMX auditoriums at Parker feature oversized, wall-to-wall screens, 4K projection, and Dolby Atmos surround sound. To be clear for moviegoers comparing formats: EMX means a bigger picture and bigger sound, not a separate film format like IMAX. The draw is screen size, immersive audio, and the heated recliners, not a proprietary print. Emagine has a real pedigree here, too: it was the first theater chain in the world to convert to 100% digital projection and was early to bring 4K and Dolby Atmos to its home market.

Colorado on Every Wall

What an amenities list doesn't capture is how Colorado the whole place feels. Owner Jon Goldstein brought in DeCa Designs, an Italian cinema-design firm led by director Domenico Del Priore, and gave each auditorium its own Colorado landscape. Walking room to room, I saw snowcapped peaks, mountain lakes, and one of the bigger auditoriums wrapped in Red Rocks. Goldstein wanted the whole build to match Colorado's love of the outdoors, right down to the murals that glow at the edges of the screen.

What's on the Menu and at the Bar

The biggest break from the old AMC is the food and drink. Emagine Parker is a dine-in theater with a full bar, not a popcorn-and-soda house.

• Little Dot Pizza — Emagine's own fresh-dough pizza, baked in an oven that runs up to 900 degrees. Goldstein did a pizza tour across the country to dial in the recipe. It is served to guests inside now, and it is set to hit DoorDash in August, with a dedicated pickup window and a courier waiting area built in so the lobby stays clear.
• OlivEpop — Emagine's signature popcorn, popped in olive oil and sea salt
• A self-serve drink station with a big spread of options, plus slushies

On the beer side, the lineup leans hard Colorado, with names like Left Hand, New Belgium (including their Voodoo Ranger), Great Divide, Crooked Stave, Station 26, and Colorado Cider Co, and the liquor side pulls from local distilleries like Stranahan's, Breckenridge, and Old Elk. They will bring food to your seat, though Goldstein was honest that it is meant more for before the movie than mid-film. A few kitchen items were still marked coming soon during opening week, so the full menu is still rolling out.

Sitting In It: The Cuddle Chairs

The cuddle chairs are the sleeper detail. They sit up in the front row, and instead of standard seats they are wide, couch-style two-seaters with an ottoman to kick your feet up on. The logic is smart: nobody likes the front row, so Emagine turned it into the most relaxed seating in the house, roomy enough that families and kids gravitate to it. I tried one out solo, which, I will admit, kind of defeats the purpose. Grab one with someone.

More Than Movies

Goldstein is already thinking past showtimes. There is a flexible space, effectively an extra room, that opens up a lot of options. A musician played there the night of the sneak preview, and he floated ideas like comedy, private parties, and special viewings down the road. Nothing is locked in yet, but the appetite is clearly there. On top of that, the auditoriums are bookable for private and group events:

• Corporate events — big-screen presentations, meetings, and team gatherings
• Private events — showers, bachelor and bachelorette parties, anniversaries

A Benefit Night Before the Public Opening

The night before it opened to the public, Emagine Parker hosted a private celebration benefiting HopeKids Colorado, a nonprofit that runs events and builds community for families raising a child with cancer or another life-threatening condition. Proceeds fund a private movie day for local HopeKids families. The room was full of community faces: Chamber members, local media, and the Mayor.

Parker Mayor Joshua Rivero took the mic and framed it as a win for the West Mainstreet area, saying that between this investment and the momentum around The Parker Hotel and the nearby venues, the dirt patch at the site "is not going to be dirt for very long."

How Emagine Ended Up in Parker

This location had actually been floated to Goldstein years ago, but the timing was not right. He lives in Detroit and his other theaters are in Minnesota and Michigan, yet he has been coming to Denver since he was 16. He grew up on the East Coast, and his family used to ski in Vermont, until the year they came to Denver instead and, in his words, never went back. Colorado became the family trip, and it carried to the next generation: Jon and his wife Lauren's daughter Noa, a recent CU Boulder grad, is working for the Parker Chamber this summer. She says the mountains speak to her. That love of the outdoors is exactly what the murals were built to capture.

A Perk for Loyalty Members

As part of the launch, Emagine is running a switch-over offer: show a loyalty membership from any other theater brand and get a free year of Emagine Rewards Extras, normally a $12.75 value. It is not a huge dollar figure, but the year covers the perks that actually add up for regulars: no online service fees on tickets, a free movie ticket on your birthday, free popcorn on Tuesdays, a dollar off popcorn, up to three hours of free parking, and early invites to screenings and events. The catch: it has to be claimed in person at Emagine Parker, and the offer runs through August 30. Pricing is on the approachable side for a luxury-recliner house, and it moves with the showtime. A weekday matinee I priced out (a standard-format Toy Story 5 at 10am) ran $10.95 for an adult recliner and $9.95 for kids and seniors. Standard and evening showtimes run higher, around $13.95 for adults per Emagine's own replies to customers. Cuddle chairs are sold as a single two-person seat. How Opening Weekend Went

Parker showed up. According to the theater, Emagine Parker's first weekend ranked among the top-performing movie theaters in the Denver market, and it did that with only nine of its ten auditoriums open. Northwoods Theater Group said the location finished #11 in the Denver market for Toy Story 5 over one of the busiest moviegoing weekends of the summer.

Summer 2026 at Emagine Parker

The summer calendar leans family, and the prices are the story (dates and pricing per the theater):

• Summer Kids Series — every Friday from July 24 through August 21, family titles play for $6 a ticket, with a matching $6 Magic Pack snack combo. It kicked off with How to Train Your Dragon (July 24) and rolls through The SpongeBob Movie (July 31), The Lego Movie (Aug 7), Muppet Treasure Island (Aug 14), and The Sandlot (Aug 21). A dollar from every ticket goes to the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation, which supports movie-industry workers in need.

Why It Matters for Parker

Parker is Emagine's planting-the-flag move in Colorado, its first location outside the Midwest. The Parker theater is operated by Northwoods Theater Group, the independent operator run by Jon Goldstein that runs select Emagine locations in Minnesota and Michigan along with the MN AXE entertainment venues. The reopening also brings a big empty box back to life, and it lands right as downtown Parker is in the middle of a building boom.
