Castle Pines Is Getting a Wave of New Pickleball Courts
By Connor Tien, DougCo Social
Pickleball's takeover of Douglas County isn't slowing down — and Castle Pines is the latest hot spot. Two new sets of courts are landing in the same community, The Canyons, on top of the free public play the city already has.
The Canyons: four new courts, open now
The Canyons — the Shea Homes master-planned community off Hess Road — added four outdoor pickleball courts at Canyon Village, its central amenity hub. They sit next to the Canyon House clubhouse and the resort-style pool, with a shade structure for water breaks between games.
One catch: these are a resident amenity, not free public courts. If you live in The Canyons, they're part of your Canyon Village access. Everyone else has a great free option a few minutes away (more on that below).

Life Time is bringing nine more — fall 2026
The bigger addition is still under construction. Life Time broke ground on a two-story, 102,000+ square-foot athletic country club in The Canyons, with an opening planned for fall 2026. The City of Castle Pines celebrated the groundbreaking earlier this year.
For pickleball, Life Time's plans call for four indoor and five outdoor courts — nine total — with open play, lessons, leagues, and tournaments for all levels, alongside the rest of the club's amenities (indoor and outdoor pools, group fitness, a Kids Academy, and hydrotherapy). It's membership-based, and a waitlist is open now.
