Consumer Access Specialist

About the Role

The Consumer Access Specialist performs Medicare compliance reviews and manages patient registrations. This role ensures patients receive accurate information regarding their financial responsibilities while coordinating and verifying insurance eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Performs Medicare compliance reviews and issues Advance Beneficiary Notices.
• Creates accurate estimates for patient financial responsibility.
• Coordinates with utilization management for pre-authorization issues.
• Registers patients for services ensuring accuracy and minimizing duplication.
• Collects critical demographic and insurance information from patients.
• Manages communication between clinical and consumer access departments.

Requirements

• Associate degree preferred; High School graduate required.
• 1+ years in customer service preferred.
• 1+ relevant healthcare experience preferred.
• Ability to adapt in an ever-changing healthcare environment.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
