Phlebotomy Laboratory Assistant

About the Role

As a Phlebotomy Laboratory Assistant, you will be responsible for the efficient organization and effectiveness of the specimen procurement, receipt, and processing area. You will attend to patient care across various age groups, focusing on high-quality and efficient care to all patients.

Responsibilities

• Organize and manage specimen procurement and processing.
• Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding specimen collection.
• Interface with other medical departments and reference laboratories.
• Collect blood specimens from patients of all ages.
• Perform general laboratory duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Completion of a Certified Phlebotomy program preferred.
• Experience in a hospital laboratory is desired, but not necessary.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
