Patient Access Specialist

About the Role

This is an onsite role that involves interacting with patients and their caregivers to gather necessary information and documentation. The specialist must also communicate with clinical departments and verify insurance benefits to facilitate patient services.

Responsibilities

• Meets with patient and/or patient's caregiver to exchange necessary information and documentation.
• Communicates with referring provider's office, clinical department(s), and/or other appropriate personnel to exchange necessary information and determine schedule.
• Verifies insurance benefits and obtains pre-certification/authorization as necessary.
• Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, ensuring all necessary information is obtained and entered accurately.
