Design Engineering Manager - Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers

About the Role

Kiewit’s Design Engineering Department focuses on delivering innovative solutions for infrastructure projects across various disciplines. As a Design Engineering Manager, you will oversee technical teams, manage project designs, and collaborate with construction estimators to achieve project objectives.

Responsibilities

• Leads and manages technical teams for assigned design disciplines during a pursuit or final design project.
• Ensures Kiewit's Standard Operating Procedures are communicated and followed.
• Controls cost of the design and all engineering services.
• Monitors and reports progress against design schedule.
• Partners with design discipline lead and construction estimator/superintendent to meet project objectives.
• Mentors junior staff with technical and professional development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related discipline.
• Licensed Architect (RA) or Professional Engineer (PE) required.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
• At least 3 years in a leadership role coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of the relationship between design and construction.
• Experience utilizing BIM/VDC and model-based design coordination.
