About the Role
This role involves providing legal advice and representation to the Board of County Commissioners and various County departments. The position requires a strong understanding of various areas of law, with the ability to provide competent legal counsel without oversight.
Responsibilities
- Represents the County in legal matters involving the Board of County Commissioners and County departments.
- Conducts legal research and preparation for trials and hearings.
- Prepares legal briefs and develops strategies for case presentations.
- Negotiates contracts and legal documents for the County.
- Provides legal advice on questions from elected officials and department heads.
- Handles legal oversight for child welfare cases and related legal matters.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited law school (LL.B./J.D. degree).
- Minimum of one year as a practicing attorney for the Assistant County Attorney role; seven years for the Senior role.
- Admission by the Colorado Supreme Court to practice law in Colorado.
