About This Event
Local historian Todd McMahon of the Douglas County History Repository gives a lecture on the history of the Columbine/Maytag area, presented by Douglas Land Conservancy and Douglas County Libraries as DLC celebrates its 2026 Under a Wild Sky at the historic Maytag Ranch. An optional reception starts at 5pm upstairs in the local history lounge, where the Library has assembled a display of ranch history and visitors can share stories; the presentation begins at 6pm downstairs in Event Hall B. The display and talk are part of a project to preserve the cultural history of conserved lands — archiving documents, saving artifacts and interviewing longtime residents. Free to attend, with a $10 per person donation suggested to support DLC's educational outreach.
