Autumn Equinox Hike at Dawson Butte

Join Douglas Land Conservancy for an autumn equinox hike at Dawson Butte Open Space. If you watch the sunrise or sunset you'll notice the sun moving quickly south, halfway between its northern and southernmost points — and the plants are noticing the daily changes too. Expect to see mature plants producing seeds for the next generation alongside others still soaking up the sun and growing strong. DLC is marking the year with special hikes on both equinoxes and both solstices at Dawson Butte, watching how plants and animals respond to the dance between the earth and the sun.
