Pine Drive between Ponderosa Drive and Lincoln Avenue in Parker is closed to through traffic while crews install a new 96-inch drainage pipe beneath the roadway, Douglas County said. The closure, originally expected to begin Monday, Oct. 26, 2026 and last about two weeks, was still in effect as of a County project update posted Oct. 29, 2026, which said the closure was expected to remain in place for about another week. The roadway reopens on Sundays during the closure window.

What's affected, what isn't

The Pine Drive intersections at Ponderosa Drive and at Lincoln Avenue stay open; it's the through segment in between that closes to through traffic. Local homes and businesses keep access, and emergency vehicle access is maintained throughout.

Drivers routing around the closure are directed to Ponderosa Drive, Colorado Highway 83/Parker Road, and Lincoln Avenue.

Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with Saturday work possible if the Douglas County Engineer approves it. No work is scheduled on major holidays, and the County says weather or site conditions could change the schedule.

The contractor on the job is Hamon Infrastructure.

The bigger project

This closure is one phase of the county's Pine Drive/Pine Lane Improvements Project, a $13,218,000 undertaking scheduled for completion in late summer 2027. Once finished, the project adds two lanes on Pine Drive, new traffic signals at Ponderosa Drive and at Pine Lane, and a widened Pine Lane.

It's one of several road and infrastructure projects moving through Parker right now; check our Parker events calendar for what's happening around town while construction continues.
