Transmission Engineer Lead - Kiewit Power Delivery Engineering

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Overhead Transmission Team Lead to guide a growing group of engineers and designers supporting transmission line projects from 12 kV to 500 kV. This role combines technical leadership with the opportunity to influence project strategy and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of transmission engineers and designers on overhead line projects
• Oversee development of conceptual designs, routing evaluations, and structure type selection
• Review and approve detailed design deliverables including plan and profile drawings
• Utilize industry standard tools such as PLS-CADD to guide and validate engineering work
• Coordinate schedules and prioritize workloads to meet project requirements
• Provide engineering support during procurement and construction

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or related engineering discipline
• 8-10 years of overhead transmission line design experience
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD and related transmission design software
• Experience leading engineering teams or serving as a technical lead
• Strong understanding of NESC, ASCE, and utility-specific design standards
