About the Role
At Schwab, the SEC Reporting group is responsible for the preparation of annual, quarterly, and other reports filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. This role ensures compliance with financial reporting and disclosure rules.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and preparation of external and internal financial reports
- Research and assist with the implementation of accounting and regulatory guidance
- Prepare detailed documentation and workpapers to support financial reports
- Enhance and streamline reporting processes and controls
- Support internal and external audits and regulatory examinations
- Maintain an effective internal control environment
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting; CPA license a plus
- 2-3 years of U.S. GAAP accounting and financial reporting experience
- Direct recent experience with SEC reporting
- Current understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles
- High proficiency in Excel required
