About the Role
This position involves performing various sterile processing duties including instrument and equipment cleaning and sterilization. The role is crucial in ensuring patient safety and the smooth operation of the healthcare facility.
Responsibilities
- Performs instrument and equipment decontamination and cleaning following IFU’s.
- Disassembles items before choosing appropriate cleaning method.
- Performs appropriate sterilization of instruments and equipment based on IFUs.
- Documents work performed utilizing instrument tracking software/paper documentation as required.
- Conducts routine cleaning and sterilizer testing, including biological monitoring and leak testing.
Requirements
- Certified Registered Central Services Technician
- Certified Sterile Processing & Distribution Technician
- High School diploma or GED
- BLS through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR
