About the Role

UCHealth Medical Group and UCHealth General Surgery/Acute Care Surgery team at Highlands Ranch Hospital are ready to welcome four advanced practice providers to the team. The ideal candidate is a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner who is enthusiastic, interested in working full-time, and focused on excellent patient care. Responsibilities

  • Join a rapidly expanding Trauma Acute Care Surgery team comprised of six surgeons that is adding four Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to support continued growth.
  • Practice at the top of your license as a highly valued and trusted member of a collaborative, high-performing team.
  • Provide comprehensive inpatient care, including daily rounds, consult evaluations, participation in trauma activations, and first assisting in the operating room.
  • Position covers inpatient service only, no clinic responsibilities.
  • Enjoy a balanced schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week on a rotating basis, with a fourth shift required 4-5 weeks per quarter to maintain full-time requirements.
  • Position will cover inpatient service with two APPs daily on weekdays and one on weekends. Shifts are daily 7-7 with evening swing shift on weekdays.
  • EPIC EMR is utilized system-wide.

Requirements

  • Requirements for Physician Assistants: Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies
  • Requirements for Physician Assistants: Unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Colorado.
  • Requirements for Physician Assistants: Physician Assistant Certification (PA-C) issued by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required for hire and must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Requirements for Physician Assistants: Unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe all medications commonly prescribed in the course of practice.
  • Requirements for Physician Assistants: Eligible to provide services, reimbursable services, and maintain provider status with Medicare and Medicaid.
  • Requirements for Physician Assistants: Eligible to provide services with no sanctions or exclusion from either the Health and Human Services/Office of Inspectors General (HHS/OIG) or the General Services Administration's (GSA) List of Parties Excluded from Federal Programs.
  • Requirements for Physician Assistants: Unrestricted medical staff membership, with appropriate practice privileges.
  • Requirements for Physician Assistants: Prescriptive authority as appropriate, per medical staff service privileging process.
  • Requirements for Physician Assistants: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
  • Requirements for Nurse Practitioners: Full or provisional prescriptive authority eligibility is required. Provider must apply for prescriptive authority as a condition of employment.
  • Requirements for Nurse Practitioners: Master's degree in Nursing and graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Requirements for Nurse Practitioners: Nurse Practitioner Certification issued by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or Nurse Practitioner Certification issued by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB) is required for hire and must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Requirements for Nurse Practitioners: Unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license issued by the State Board of Nursing in the state of practice or compact privileges under the multi-state Nurse Licensure Compact agreement.
  • Requirements for Nurse Practitioners: Unrestricted medical staff membership, with appropriate practice privileges.
  • Requirements for Nurse Practitioners: Unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe all medications commonly prescribed in the course of practice.

Compensation

  • Annual Quality Value Incentive Plan (QVIP) of up to $10,000.
  • Relocation bonus of up to $10,000, if eligible.
  • Paid malpractice.
  • Continuing medical education (CME) of up to $3,500 and up to 5 days annually.
