About the Role

The Paralegal I/II provides paraprofessional legal and administrative support to the Town Attorney's Office, assisting attorneys with legal matters, projects, correspondence and document preparation. The role conducts legal research, processes real property documents, manages caseloads and files, and supports Town Council agenda preparation. Pay is $31.79 to $42.92 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys and legal staff with legal matters, projects, correspondence and follow-up
  • Prepare, review and process legal documents
  • Conduct legal research using federal, state and local statutes, regulations, ordinances and case law
  • Organize and maintain caseloads, projects and administrative files
  • Support contract routing, legal records and DocuSign envelope processing
  • Assist with Town Council agenda preparation and related processes

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a closely related field
  • One to three years of paralegal experience in a public or private law office
  • Paralegal certificate required or ability to obtain within six months of hire
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered
