Finance Specialist I or II (Human Services)

About the Role

The Finance Specialist is primarily tasked with ensuring timely and accurate processing of various financial operations within the Human Services department. This role involves managing payroll, reconciling data, and maintaining comprehensive documentation. Additionally, the specialist contributes to compliance with federal and state regulations and participates in audits as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process provider payroll
• Ensure timely and accurate Department invoice payments
• Generate financial reports and maintain documentation
• Participate in County and Department audits
• Review and track invoices for payment
• Responsible for county credit card oversight

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Two years of accounting/bookkeeping experience
• Intermediate Excel skills mandatory
• Bachelor’s degree preferred for Finance Specialist II
• Background check required
• Experience in Human Services is a plus
