About This Event
Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Cheap Trick headline the Summer Concert Series on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at the Amphitheater at Philip S. Miller Park. Gates open at 6 p.m., the opener takes the stage at 7 p.m., and Cheap Trick perform at 8:30 p.m.
Hailing from Rockford, Illinois, Cheap Trick has been delivering electrifying live shows and chart-defining records for over five decades. Founding members Robin Zander (vocals), Rick Nielsen (guitars), and Tom Petersson (bass) built the catalog behind unmistakable hits 'I Want You to Want Me,' 'Surrender,' 'Dream Police,' 'Ain't That a Shame,' and the late-1980s power-ballad chart-topper 'The Flame.' Their 1979 triple-platinum live record At Budokan stands among the great live albums of the rock era; the same year's Dream Police hit #6 on the Billboard 200. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016.
Cheap Trick has performed live more than 6,000 times since forming in 1973, sold more than 20 million albums worldwide, and continues to tour relentlessly behind a deep catalog spanning more than 20 studio albums. Expect a setlist that mixes the radio hits with the deep cuts, all delivered with the band's signature blend of Beatles-influenced power pop, melodic hooks, and Midwestern hard-rock attitude.
Tickets are sold exclusively through TicketWeb. Choose from elevated patio boxes with cocktail service, orchestra tiered seating, or general admission lawn. Bring a blanket or low-back chair — high-back chairs and umbrellas are not permitted. Free parking on site at the Miller Activity Complex. A full cocktail bar and rotating food trucks operate throughout the evening. The venue is wheelchair accessible.
