About the Role

The Parker Police Department seeks compassionate and articulate volunteers to join the Victim Services Unit. Volunteers will receive extensive training in victimization dynamics and will offer immediate support to victims and survivors of various crimes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide immediate crisis intervention for victims of crime.
  • Assess the immediate needs of victims and provide referrals.
  • Act as a liaison between victims and the criminal justice system.
  • Ensure victims are aware of their rights under Colorado Law.
  • Provide emotional and long-term support services to victims.
  • Complete necessary reports and attend monthly support meetings.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Able to work on-call, including nights and weekends.
  • Must be able to respond to a call within 45 minutes if scheduled.
  • Completion of a 40-hour initial training is required.
  • Must pass a background check including a drug screen and polygraph test.
