About the Role
Performs complex diagnostic and interventional procedures under the direction of a radiologist. Prepares and maintains a sterile field, ensuring proper technique and adherence to infection control standards throughout procedures. Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of patient care. Ensures quality in imaging, patient care, and workflow. Performs direct patient care duties within the technologist’s scope of practice, including monitoring patient condition, transporting patient, and using proper infection control techniques. Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems. Supports inventory and supply management, including checking expirations dates, stocking of supplies, and notifying appropriate personnel of shortages. Operates and maintains equipment safely, properly wears Dosimeter badge, and minimizes radiation exposure. Other duties as assigned. Prepares and administers contrast agents as directed, following safety protocols and monitoring for adverse reactions. Participates in time-out and procedural verification processes, ensuring correct patient identification, procedure, and site. Supports inventory and supply management, including checking expirations dates, stocking of supplies, and notifying appropriate personnel of shortages.
