Consumer Access Specialist

About the Role

The Consumer Access Specialist is responsible for ensuring Medicare compliance and establishing patient financial responsibility estimates. This role involves coordinating with various departments to ensure patients have the necessary information and support during their healthcare journey.

Responsibilities

• Perform Medicare compliance reviews and issue necessary notices
• Create accurate estimates for patient financial responsibilities and collect payments
• Coordinate with utilization management for pre-authorization issues
• Contact insurance companies to verify benefits and obtain pre-authorizations
• Register patients ensuring accuracy and minimizing record duplication
• Manage communication between departments to enhance patient experience

Requirements

• High School Graduate or Equivalent required; Associate degree preferred
• 1+ years of experience in customer service, healthcare, or revenue cycle preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance benefits
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Compensation

• Base pay: $19.77 - $31.64/hr
