Surveyor and/of Survey Crew Chief

About the Role

Kiewit is a highly regarded General Contractor executing self-performed projects all over the US. We have a large backlog of work and are seeking highly skilled and motivated Sr. Surveyors and Sr.

Responsibilities

• Perform surveying operations for the construction of assigned projects, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to project specifications.
• Develop and implement surveying plans, methodologies, and best practices to optimize field data collection and layout. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop survey plans and schedules.
• If qualified and experienced as a Survey Crew chief, will lead and guide a team of surveyors and field personnel.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to ensure alignment between design intent and field execution.
• Skilled in the utilization of advanced surveying technology, including Trimble Business Center, GPS, total stations, LiDAR, and drones, to capture and analyze data.
• Conduct quality control checks to verify survey accuracy and compliance with contractual requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree is preferred.
• 5+ years of field construction survey experience, peforming dimentional control, industrial measurements, conducting field surveys. Prefer experience with heavy civil highway, bridge construction, power plants, water, tunneling. For Crew chiefs, must have at least 2 years experience leading crews, and training/mentoring surveyors in construction survey equipment and standards/practices.
• Proficiency with Trimble Access/Business Center is required.
• Proficiency with Survey equipment, such as GPS, total stations, and LiDAR, and data collection tools (drones).
• Must be able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry to perform calculations (area, volume, circumference, proportion, percentage)
