About the Role
Kiewit is seeking a Building Mechanical (MEP) Engineer to provide design for a variety of industrial buildings across multiple market sectors. The ideal candidate has a strong background in HVAC and plumbing systems, particularly in high-reliability environments.
Responsibilities
- Design and lay out mechanical systems and equipment for buildings, including HVAC and ventilation
- Develop cost-effective mechanical designs that meet reliability and safety standards
- Create construction documents and specifications for HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems
- Perform system sizing calculations and equipment selection
- Apply industry codes and standards such as ASHRAE and NFPA
- Coordinate with other design disciplines in a collaborative team environment
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
- 7+ years of experience in building design
- PE license is a plus
- Experience with HVAC systems including chilled water and gas piping
- Proficient in HVAC load modeling and ductwork sizing
- Familiarity with building modeling software
