Sterile Processing Tech Lead

About the Role

This role is crucial for patient safety and infection control. The Lead Technician also acts as a liaison to support specialized procedures within the surgical setting.

Responsibilities

• Anticipates OR needs and manages the workroom to minimize schedule delays.
• Serves as the surgical specialty liaison to the Operating Room and Procedure Center.
• Trains staff on cleaning and sterilization per instrument manufacturer guidelines.
• Creates, updates, and inputs instrument set lists into the SPM system.
• Performs decontamination of durable medical equipment and OR surgical instruments.
• Oversees departmental operations in management's absence, applying policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High School or GED
• 3 years of surgical instrumentation experience in a hospital sterile processing environment.
• Lead experience preferred.
• Certification(s): CRCST, CSPDT, CIS, or CER.
