Patient Transporter

About the Role

The Patient Transporter plays a vital role in ensuring patients are safely moved around the hospital. This position involves working directly with patients, assisting them as necessary and delivering equipment to staff when required.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher or bed to designated sites as requested.
• Assists patients with entering and exiting vehicles, including transfer from or to wheelchairs or stretchers.
• Delivers equipment and specimens to requesting staff or department.
• Greets and provides information and direction to patients and visitors.
• Requires critical thinking skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider or Heartsaver CPR within 90 days of hire.
