Medical Laboratory Assistant

About the Role

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you collect and process various types of specimens to support lab operations. The role involves operating laboratory equipment, maintaining testing procedures, and communicating results to ensure quality care.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen collection including venous and capillary blood draws.
• Centrifuge, aliquot, and distribute samples to testing areas.
• Document and report test results under supervision.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory regulations and accreditation requirements.
• Provide training and oversight to new associates and students.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
• Previous clinical laboratory experience (Preferred)
• NHA Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification (Preferred)
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
