About the Role

Assist WOC Nurses (WOCN) with wound care needs on inpatient units. Collaborates with Inpatient Wound Care Team to provide clinical support to bedside staff.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with WOCN and bedside staff to support local workflows, including prevention rounding and implementation of HAPI bundle.
  • Assists with monitoring wound progression and healing. Performs simple wound care treatments. Escalates wound concerns to WOCN team.
  • Assists with maintaining wound care equipment. Utilizes technology to support HAPI prevention, wound identification and wound healing.
  • Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with hospital standards. Demonstrates appropriate emergency and patient safety procedures.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred: Current CNA or MA experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider within 30 days of hire.
