Coord Respiratory Therapy

About the Role

Coordinates the care of patients with chronic respiratory disease.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates patient assessment and care, including collaborative care, case management, education, and discharge.
• Participates in multi-disciplinary meetings for the purpose of managing/reviewing patient care and treatment protocols, policies, and procedures.
• Serves as a resource to staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development.
• Assists with the development of educational materials for patients. Organizes and facilitates support groups for patients and their families.
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Registered as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• State licensure
• 2 years of respiratory therapy experience.
• BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• PALS Certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program
